Enjoy the Ultimate Rome Tour
Skip the long lines and enter the famous amphitheater with your guide, where you'll hear why daily life was dangerous for many citizens of Rome in antiquity. Learn about the history of the Colosseum and why it was built, when, and by whom.
Walk across the arena floor where so many people died for public entertainment. You'll climb to the near top of the Colosseum from where you'll enjoy spectacular views of the world-famous ruins, and then retrace your steps down to the base where you'll learn about the dark soul of the Colosseum and Porta Libitina.
Next up is a comprehensive tour of the Roman Forum where you'll get a detailed look at the origins of Rome: the myths, the cults, the temples, Christianization and overbuilding, the Emperors, slaves, and how all of these have shaped the world we live in today.
The ancient Rome segment concludes at approximately 5:30 PM, at which time you can remain inside the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill areas to further explore on your own for about an hour.
Upon exiting the Roman Forum, you'll have time to refresh in a bar nearby before your evening walking tour of Rome at 7 PM.
We'll embark upon a fascinating stroll through all the most beautiful squares in Rome, where you'll see the magnificent fountains, temples, churches, monuments, and ruins of real Rome, both on and off the beaten path.
