We take another approached on this tour, and follow the saying: “When In Rome, EAT as the Romans do ”!
If your idea of navigating a new culture is through food and drink, then this tour really is for you. With a strong emphasis on Rome's revered street food style, we will wander the backstreets of the ancient city in search of fine food, sweets, snacks, chocolate, fried treats from the Jewish Quarter, pizza sold by weight, pastries, gelato and grattachecca.
Our leisurely stroll, interspersed with frequent sample tastings, particularly in the bakeries and cheese shops of Rome's Jewish Ghetto, will sate our hunger for information about the culinary traditions of Rome.
We make frequent stops to savour typical delicacies from local traders and specialty stores in Rome's oldest markets.
We also visit a selection of locales, which offer excellent, traditional Roman fare. Together, they espouse the rich food culture of Rome.
